To Cancel XBox Live you have to Call Support?

Yes, you would have to call costumer support. But why the heck would you cancel an Xbox Live account.It's so fun.

I had to do this a few years ago when I wanted to stop it renewing for a while as I wouldn't be using it. I since need to do it again for a while so it doesn't renew and I have been able to do it online on Xbox.com this time. If you sign into Xbox Live on Xbox.com and go to your account in there you should have all the details and where it tells you about Automatic Renewal it will say "On" and should allow you to change it, if you press change, you can change it to "No" which should work. A friend of mine has done this and it did stop the renewal.

Good point about auto-renewal. I have not been an Xbox live member. But i used this technique with other auto-pay bill options and that worked too. Just untick the box for auto pay and you should be fine. Or, swap out to a prepaid debit card that doesn't have enough money on it and they can't renew. By the way, don't use a credit card for that purpose as most companies will happily over draw your credit limit to get their pound of flesh. Just saying watch out. Best of luck with your cancellation. Makes more room for everyone else on Xbox Live, i guess. LOL!

Usually the customer service number is toll free as in 800 or 888 number, something you can dial from anywhere. If you are calling from outside the area, there could be another number that you are asked to call but it won't cost anything. Or, at least thats how they usually do things.
