Thread: Modern Warfare 3

Modern Warfare 3 is scheduled to come out in November. Anyone here planning on getting it? I thought I would but after seeing the reviews of it, it looks pretty close to its predacessor. I think that the second installment and this one look really similar. has anyone else noticed that or is this just my thinking? I wonder how much they have changed on it? the graphics look pretty similar to me.

That's how it always is. Slightly bump up the anti-aliasing, slap on a new story and multiplayer maps. I mean Valve uses the same game engine over and over again but at least they know to mix up the game. I can't seem to find similarities between Half-Life and Portal or Left 4 Dead and Counter Strike. All different, same engine.

Call of Duty on the other hand, and Infinity Ward is most guilty of this, just piss around the next few years or so and just give out the same thing mechanically. If you want a good shooter for this season, go Battlefield 3. Now that's a game that does not look like it disappoints...until I get a hold of it and rub it in between my legs then give it back in the form of a review.

You would think thought that they could at least try to mix it up. I mean who really wants a game that is similar to the one before it? Most definetely not me.

Yeah, I'll get it. I get all the Modern Warfare games.

The FOV is locked at 65. That is pitiful. No, I won't be getting this game. It's just FPS for kindergartners.

It's a console game plain and simple. There's no point in getting it on a PC.

I did not get this yet because it looks just like MW2. I wanted a brand new game, but I guess not if it is the same, multiplayer wise at least.

No kidding. When it crashes it refers to itself as MW2 and it steals buildings directly copied from MW2.

I plan to get the game. I heard it is pretty good and since I am a huge CoD fan I want to get the game. I am interested in what the Elite thing for CoD because it sounds interesting. Right now, I am working on getting the money to pay for the game.

My experience with franchise games is purely limited to PCs, but I have noticed that some game companies do mix familiar features from previous games (as in the case of the official versions of Sid Meier's Civilization) and new features that make sequels exciting. That way, players can start game play fairly fast and not have to read a game manual all the way through during the first sessions.
