Thread: When did you first get into Runescape?

I got into Runescape this year around June or July. A friend of mine recruited me into the game from his forum and i have been hooked ever since. For a long time, we hung out in Runescape talking and leveling up. He's busy with his own stuff now, so we don't hang out there much anymore. But i still go back on occasion and work on my magic or combat.

I've still not "got" into it.

Sure, I just yesterday was at my friends home, and watched how he plays it, so I might start playing today or something :P

By the way, i know you're kidding and all about wanting to play, but if you ever really do get into Runescape, let me know. I can hook you up with some super sweet armor and free runes to practice your magic. All that stuff costs a small fortune. I have plenty of coin. Add me. We'll hang out at duel arena leveling up. Hate being there with someone i don't know cause the guys are usually just in for a quick kill and they're gone. How much fun can that be?

All i'm saying, would be fun hanging out there with you if you ever get serious about it. Won't hold my breath though. Just saying... would be nice.

It's not a bad game though, it's came a long way since it first started, as far as I can remember anyway.

Don't tell me that! LOL! My best friend online is a player mod. He would not be happy with your botting activities.

Just today we were in Runescape and he was trying to catch a shark with his bare hands and was complaining about the low selling price of sharks and said it was all due to bots over fishing sharks and then markets being glutted with excess.






By the way, the red head is me, my character Dardaigh, and the handsome fellow elbow deep in that sharks mouth is my gaming partner.

He caught six sharks that way.

The first time I played runescape was 9 years ago - around 2002. I was only 9 at that time and my and my brother were looking for games to play online (we were bored of Timon and Pumbaa's Jungle Games). We came across Runescape and we were hooked to PC gaming ever since! Runescape was our first MMORPG game, and it opened a gateway to a ton of other games that I would enjoy playing for hours on end. =)

That's cool to hear how you've been in the game that long. My best friend has been in the game for at least that long. And, i know one other guy who has been in it just around 10 years. Think the thing that keeps players coming back to the game is that Runescape keeps adding new skills, challenges, quests, puzzles. And, every year there are events to attend in game. As one high level player told me today, so much to do in the game, you should never be bored. And, it's true. If you fully train ALL your skills and utilize the quests and go out of your way to make friends in the game that share the love of Runescape, then there really is no way to get bored. Even after i took my hiatus for about a month, i came back and started playing the game. Now, there's not a day that goes by that i don't go into Runescape to level up, quest, train or hang out with friends. I've met a lot of great people through Runescape and done a lot of really fun things. Hope to have many more years of fun there.
