Sony Unveils The Last Of Us

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is happy to reveal that The Last of Us is being developed by Naughty Dog Inc., creators of such acclaimed game series as Uncharted, Jak and Daxter and Crash Bandicoot.The Last of Us is a genre-defining experience that blends survival and action elements to tell a character driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague. Abandoned cities are being reclaimed by nature and the remaining survivors are killing each other for food, weapons and whatever they can get their hands on.

Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a brave, young teenage girl who is wise beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States.

"We are excited to finally unveil The Last of Us, a project the team has been working hard on for some time," said Evan Wells, co president of Naughty Dog Inc. "Naughty Dog's mission is to change the way people experience videogames. We are confident The Last of Us will take a leap forward in cinematic gaming and storytelling, providing gamers with an experience unlike anything else in the industry.

I saw the trailer for this game and was very excited to hear it being announced. Naught Dog are a good developer, so having them do a zombie like game is pretty good news to hear. I just hope it's good enough to put itself above the rest of all the zombie games which can already be found on the market.

Yeah, the trailer looks nice and the zombies are a bit.. different. Still it would need to be amazing story-wise if it wants to rise above all the other Zombie games that are already on the market.

I will check right away.

Trailer is great if you ask me. I am just afraid, if it will be like Dead Island. Great trailer, not so good game.

I knew dead island would be lame and trailer isn't as good as people were making it up to be.

Yeah, I suspected Dead Island would suffer from "Impressive opening, poor act" like a lot of games these days. But Naughty Dog at least have a track record of delivering on impressive trailers with the Uncharted games, so I'm more willing to expect good things of this game.

I agree about the Naughty Dog trailers/gameplay consistency, and I hope this wont get into my "too much expectation - much disappointment" list.

I can't wait for this game. It looks awesome from the trailer. Plus it's naughty dog. They make awesome games....so I really got high hopes for this one Really cannot wait ;D
