Thread: Final Fantasy VII Gets a Remake?

Honestly, I don't think this remake is ever going to happen. All that tech demo was from the beginning days of the ps3 was a tease. And honestly, this isn't the same square they used to be. I wouldn't trust them to do a good job on the remake now like I would have in years prior.

Many people have been clamoring for this remake for many years now. It's considered one of the best RPGs of all time so it makes sense. There's someone asking for a remake of any game they feel is too aged these days.

I think a remake will come eventually but frankly Square Enix doesn't seem to treat the title with the same sort of fandom as the actual fans of FF. Many people also want a remake of FFIX and would be angry if VII got one but not IX.

Perhaps if they ever find themselves in financial trouble they might, but I doubt that will happen any time soon.

The ironic thing about that is the series that keeps them out of financial trouble is the same one the people want remakes of. When you seen their financial records, it shows that if it wasn't for the name weight of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, Square Enix would be dead in the water.

I don't know, but seeing the latest Final Fantasy installments, it's not really the Final Fantasy I grew up with. It turned out to be a hack and slash game instaed of the usual turn based game.

FF IX is my favorite installment, and also the first FF game that I have completed. The story is just great!

I didn't understand a thing that you are saying. It seems like it contradicts itself.

I do not think they are because of royalties, but i know they are making one of the old titles but i post a thread and let the world know

I also think Sony might be waiting for their new console so they can render the game in graphics more similar to Advent Children quality so they can do justice to a remake of their most cherished MMO.

I think they should focus their time more on better storylines than remakes. The games they have released past Final Fantasy X have been really lackluster, especially the rather disappointing storyline of Final Fantasy XIII. I played Final Fantasy VII and although it was a great game, it doesn't deserve constant remakes and movies. It's good as it is - leave it as a Classic!

Yes it is time for a remake. Soooo many people would buy it. Here, Square Enix: take my money!
