Free to play PS3 Games

If PCs have free to play MMOs, do the PS3 console have free to play games?
Like games you just need to download from the publisher's site at no cost at all.
Not talking about pirated games here...

The only two that I know of are:

DC Universe Online
Free Realms

Of course since these are free to play, in order to enjoy the game fully you must purchase in game items and things of that sort.

I saw a post about how the developers of Battlefield were releasing Battlefield 1943 for free, but I completely forgot the name of the site. They didn't advertise this at all though. I'm not sure if it's because they don't want to give away too many or if it's because they didn't think people would care.

Battlefield 1943 can be downloaded from the PSN store. Or at least, it could be when I downloaded it. I'm not sure about now. It's a pretty good game considering it's free, so if you like the other Battlefield games you can always give that a try. I can't think of any free MMOs for the PS3 though.

Why not just download the game yourself and answer your own questions? If it's because you don't own a PS3 then don't just whether to get it or not by F2P then you ought to consider a netbook or something because PS3 doesn't have much to offer in this genre.

I'd like to download it myself but I don't have a PS3.
