Me too i really wanna downgrade my ps3 in order to jailbreak it, because i bought a new PS3 console that has a very new version that is the reason why i couldn't jailbreak it.

damn ,was looking for answers for this too.
I mean playing online is fun and all, but games cost too much, rather play a handful of singleplayer games than 1 online game a year :/

Unfortunately i have just given my brand new Playstation 3 which is a 320 GO console in order to get a jailbroken one which is a 120 GO console, but now at least i can download games and play a lot of them on my Playstation 3 without having to buy them.

btw, just curious, what is the size of a usual PS3 game to download?

The size of each Playstation 3 game can differs from game to other, and there are some games that can have 20 GB to 30 GB in their size, so the best way to play them is to get an external hard drive.

I might buy a pre-jailbroken slim one of these days but i'm not sure yet......if I did, it'd be used for backups only.

As for downgrading a PS3's firmware, I doubt there's a way to do this.

I think that you're going to do the right thing by getting a jailbroken PS3 because you can get most of the games from Warez and Torrent websites for free, but the only drawback in buying it is that you won't be able to play games online.
