Thread: Are you expecting the PS4 soon?

To be honest, I think the PS4 shouldn't release anytime soon, i mean the PS3 is just getting into its prime stages, even if xBox does release the xBox720, it wouldnt matter.
It's not like the PS3 is outdated in its processing and what not.

No, at least not untill 2014. or 2015. I think PS3 has still a lot more to offer, and Sony has no rush to create a breakthrough console, as you mentioned above.

The PS3 and 360 are still good consoles but they are far past their limitations of graphical prowess. This is apparent when you see games like Skyrim or BF3 being severely watered down graphically. There is much room for improvement in that area. As graphics for PC games rocket upwards in quality, the console versions will progressively get worse and worse looking in comparison as the years go by. This can only be remedied with a new generation of consoles.

If I recall correctly, when the PS3 was released Sony were saying they expected to last around 5 years or so. Which would put it at around this time for a Playstation 4 announcement. I'd expect its release sometime in the next few years. Even though the PS3 is still very powerful, Omar is right. Having played BF3 on the Playstation, it's obvious the game had to be 'watered down' in order to work on it. Five years in the technology world is a very, very long time, and the PS3 is starting to show its age.

But wouldnt anybody be disappointed if the PS4 is not released in the next two years? Not me to be honest, i can live with the PS3

After reading trough your post and some on the forums, I changed my opinion a bit. Maybe in late 2013 or early 2014 would be the best release date for PS4.

2014 would be a safe bet in my opinion
But who knows, if the 720 releases sooner, and Sony starts loosing sales, the PS4 might be their go to strategy, i just hope they price is right and release it with the correct games.

No, I think if 720 starts sooner, they will develop PS4 to be even better visually and perfromance wise and still beat the shit out of xbox.

Yes im pretty sure the 720 is coming in the next two years, dont quote me on that though.
