    Default Backwards Compatability

The PS4 should definitely have backwards compatibility so you won't have to go out and buy so many games right off the bat when you buy the PS4. The console should at least be able to play PS3 games and maybe ps2 games. PS1 would be nice but I doubt they would include that in the console. What do you think?

I agree. The Xbox 360 could play all Xbox 1 games and I see no reason that Sony should not make the PS4 backward compatible. Having to buy 100% new games with a new console sucks after spending the money to get a console in the first place.

My point exactly. I just hope Sony realizes that the little changes like that can either make or break them when it comes to a new console.

I don't see why they wouldn't have backwards compatibility. They are still on CD form. But perhaps they want to bank a bit and money grab by making you buy an extra component so that backwards compatibility works lol

Marth, most PS3's are not backwards compatible. It is one of my pet peeves with the PS3, honestly. I just can not stand having to shell out money for a game I already own but cannot play because it is a PS2 disc not PS3! Thank goodness we still have the PS2 or I would really be upset about the whole thing.

I'd like to see this too. That would be pretty nice if you ask me.

In my opinion a digital market is the best solution. Console hard drives are big enough to hold plenty of old titles downloaded to it. Obviously not every console can afford to be able to run old formats since that is not cost effective or convenient.

I think a new console should be able to run all of the games it's predecessors had. It's the games that make a system so if you have a console play all the games the old versions of it had then it will be that much more the ultimate gaming machine for someone who prefers that companies consoles.

I see no reason why Sony can't offer digital downloads of games for all the previous Playstations on the PS4 network. There would have to be some way to download a game for free if you already bought it previously though. Unfortunately Sony is too greedy to do that and will probably just make you have to buy it again.
