Not for the ps3, but for the older 360s you did. Anyway, just keep your ps3 out in the open where the heat can get away and you will be fine.

Re: PS3 Cooling System
We don't have an external cooling system for our PS3 & it works just fine. It stands on its side on a TV shelf next to the TV and it is just fine. We've never had a problem with it overheating either.

I used to play on xbox and ps for a long time - no need to have cooling system.

Re: PS3 Cooling System
if you let your console on for more about 2 hours, you'd better get a cooling device~~ or shutdown the console for 10 mins every 2 hours

Re: PS3 Cooling System
I've had my Playstation for almost a year now (A year come Christmas day) and I've never had a problem with mine. I also spend to much time on it, I'm a bit of a game nerd on it, and through all the all-nighters and all-dayers I've pulled I've still yet to have a problem with mine. I have the Slim version.

Re: PS3 Cooling System
Unless you put your PS3 in the microwave you don't need a outer cooling system. Just put it in a spot that isn't too confined and your straight.
