Thread: Minecraft Physical release?

Maybe they will offer the option of a physical disc mailed to the person who purchased Minecraft, for a small fee, like $5.00 or whatever would cover shipping. That would give everyone a reason to buy the game now that it's out of beta. But of course, that would be in addition to the regular price for the downloadable/online version of Minecraft.

But shipping might cost more, especially if you are very far away, like in a different state or country...
Wouldn't it be easier if you just burn your own copy?

Yes, it would actually. And, you can download some free programs like Ubuntu and burn to a disk or save to a USB drive. You might be able to do the same thing for a copy of Minecraft, assuming they ever release it in that form.

Or you can burn to disc, and get some good sticker to that disc, and sell it on auction for 10000$

I don't think there will ever be physical release. For a 40mb indie game that you don't even have to install it is completely ok, although I would really love to have it.
