Thread: Minecraft Physical release?

Any chance for Minecraft to get a physical release of the game? I heard a while back that Notch gave out a physical copy of the game to a lucky winner, but I didn't hear anything recently on a physical copy. I'm fine with there not being a physical copy, but I think it'd be pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure it will be digital distribution only as that is how it's sold so far (without the assistance of Steam or other sites mind you) and it's done just fine. Physical copies are outdated and require much more money to manufacture and publish.

That's also what I think. Besides, physical copies are only used once. It's much better if you just burn your copy on a disc to have a back-up.

Somewhat on topic, i haven't played in a while and i cant load up the official site.

Will i have to buy it again when the full game launches?

No. Anyone who bought the beta basically pre-ordered it. If you can't load up the site then it's probably just down right now.

I've always had problems with certain sites using Chrome, some days they just wont load, glad to hear i don't have to buy it again.

Best thing is to contact your ISP as soon as possible so you can have it fixed.

Yeah. I think Minecraft will only be released digitally... This is sad but true. I hope I am wrong though.

I agree. They won't release it on disc if you ask me.
