Anyone here ever play Splintercell? And by that i mean the REAL splintercell's? The one's that you would have to analyze the map your in and time your movements with guard patrols? Where shooting enemies was only for last resort. Where you're heart stopped when ever you avoided a guard by seconds? That's the splintercell i'm talking about.

It seems now game developers are placing heavy emphasis on simplifying gameplay to appeal to a wider market. The game developer might make some extra money (even that is debatable) however you lose all your loyal fanbase.

I am a HUGE fan of the splintercell series. I play games like call of duty and your average shoot em ups' how ever the unrivaled game play of the splintercell series is what brings me back to it every time.

Spies vs Mercs is by far one of the most genius multiplayer design i have ever seen. There is nothing like outsmarting a REAL human and going behind them and snapping their neck. Being able to work cooperatively with your team mates tactically to achieve a common goal.

It all went to hell with Splintercell Conviction.
The game play was fast paced and very call of duty like with a few stealth mechanics included in the game. This is because the main character of the story is out for revenge so basically he gets to ignore everything the series is founded upon.

It really brings me down the way game developers will turn their back on their fan base just for a few extra bucks. The most ironic thing is that Conviction didn't even sell as well as the ones that founded the series. How disappointing. It's a lose for everyone
