Re: Why no one buys a Nintendo 3DS.
It makes me wonder why Nintendo would release so many versions of a single console. I guess it's a marketing scheme for rich kids. Nintendo really failed with the 3DS. They lost so much money, the console is terrible and there is pretty much no games on it. Fail Nintendo, fail. I was actually looking forward to the 3DS when I heard all the great things about it. Maybe the 3DS Lite will do us justice. Also, has anyone else noticed that Nintendo has made a second version of every handheld console released so far? Just an observation.

All kidding aside, in order to enjoy the 3D you have to hold the device in such a way that is incredibly uncomfortable or invest more money in a device to hold it for you. Other than that fact, the reason I personally have not upgraded is that I have astigmatism and I would be paying for a feature that would induce migraines the majority of the time that I used it.

I don't think the 3DS is just a version of the DS. It's kinda the portable device's successor.
It's like Gameboy to Gameboy Color, and to Gameboy Advance, which are DS's predecessors.
