Nintendo drop the price of 3DS
After more than four months of waiting, 8.11 Nintendo will finally drop the price of its 3DS from $249.99 to a more reasonable $169.99.
But we have bought some 3DS on June...

Well the 3ds didn't do that well in sales I think, so they have to drop the price

Re: Nintendo drop the price of 3DS
That's exactly why they had to drop it. But it's rare for a system to drop this soon after launch. It hasn't even been six months. We'll see in the coming weeks if this price drop will sustain the sales though. Because as of right now, because of that big drop, now Nintendo is selling it at a loss.

Re: Nintendo drop the price of 3DS
This is why I never buy a game or console on the day of launch. I can sacrifice the time I could be spending playing the game a little bit sooner just so I can save some money.
This especially applies to PC games. I just bought the GOTY edition of Borderlands for 7.95 on Steam. That's a steal.
I'm glad they lowered the price though. Nintendo is having a bit of a hard time selling units. There's just not a great enough catalog right now.
Once the new pokemon comes out things will pick up though.Automated Ad: I will Show You How to Convert Your Articles Into Videos for $5

Re: Nintendo drop the price of 3DS
There was just too much hype in the news about this particular system. They built up the demand and then news came out about how the 3D could damage childrens eyes, so the company recommended parents not buy for anyone under age of seven years old. So that was a big loss for the company. There would have been greater demand if they hadn't found that out. Really though, i'm glad the info went public. There would have been massive lawsuits otherwise in time. This way, they protect themselves. A lower price will help attract some of the shoppers who held off due to the bad publicity. They will over look possible flaws to get a really good deal. And, with Christmas coming up, there will be plenty of sales on this.

Re: Nintendo drop the price of 3DS
My advice: Ignore the price drop and wait for the 3DS Lite. There aren't any good games on it yet and the console is terrible at the moment. It's pretty much a DSi with screwed up 3D and a few extra (horrible) games. The only decent one on the shelf would be Zelda and that's a remake. I suppose Nintendo was forced to drop the price because they were losing so much money and not getting any sales. Little wonder that.

Re: Nintendo drop the price of 3DS
Ugh I am so done with the whole "let's make everything in 3D and charge more!" thing. Movies, tvs, now games and systems. It's just a money making ploy. 3D is difficult on my eyes since I wear glasses and gives me a headache. I will not buy into this fad and I suspect many others won't either. It's no wonder they had to drop the price.
