Thread: World of Warcraft is over rated?

One of my friends used to be pretty addicted to WoW. One day I was at his house and he played for probably 3 or 4 hours straight just leveling up his herb skills. A couple days later, he informed me of a beta going on for a game called Rift. Soon after, he told me he completely dropped WoW and bought Rift.

Maybe that's a rare case, but for a game that's supposed to keep you hooked, he sure was quick to pick up a new MMO that was basically the same game with much better graphics and more customization options.

Thats the thing with MMO's, people are ready to jump to any game with all the flashy advertising they have.
Skills this, gold that, free free free... what they forgot to say is that they have premium items that cost a shitload more than membership.
And the premium ones cost a hell of alot
The only MMO i might;ve enjoyed was runescape, for 5$ membership you get ALOT of content, and they never ask you to pay after that.
But i dont play it anymore, my priorities changed.

People lose their life on WoW? I only heard one incident of a boy that get hospitalized after playing WoW for more that 24 hours, if I'm not mistaken.

nono he didn't meant on that way. We are talking about social life. Real life besides WoW.

Never played it, never will.
I've seen what it looks like, the gameplay, it sucks. Well for me at least.
It is over rated, but they have a lot of fans.

True. It is played by millions, yet, I don't know why.
