If they manage to pull this off without heavy use of emulation, I will rise my hat at Microsoft. It is simply a brilliant idea, especially if we are able to play them at higher resolutions! I can only imagine what Forza 3 looks like at 1080p resolution, antialiasing and anisotropic filtering enabled! Again, if higher resolution is possible.

I would be very interested in how they intent to do it. Emulation (atleast fully) simply is not the answer as it eats raw CPU power like mad. GPU helps practically nothing. AFAIK there are no computer is capable of fully emulating current-gen consoles hardware at full speed. Hell, at this day Gamecube/Wii emulation alone is a struggle in 3D games!

I'm really skeptical on this. And that message I quoted is true. I tried emulating some Wii games and it just fail on my computer's current specs.

Now this will be amazing if it is actually done. Microsoft, to me, has been a poor copy cat of the PlayStation 3. It has almost the same gaming market minus a few exclusives like Halo and Gears of War. It's about time they start coming up with something new and innovative to their consoles only.

Well, mostly, everything is a copy of something else. And this is the start of having a good competition.
With competition, people don't have choices.

I thought you meant the other way. Anyways, it's really cool for PC users. But didn't most xbox games have PC versions since they are made by the same company?
