Thread: What is the next XBox going to be called?

What is microsoft going to name the next xbox? Any ETA on the release date? A guy at gamestop said that the shelf life for new consoles is 10 years vs the old 5 years. He said this is because they can now issue online updates. Is that true too?

The new name is probably not determined and probably gonna be something simple yet has a nice ring, the shelf life thing is also probably true the employees at gamestop usually know something about that kind of stuff.

maybe there a poll over that and w can search on that. specifically the name won as best.

Well the xbox 360 console is not even half way its through life-cycle we heard at last years E3 2009. So I am guessing around 2020-23ish where there will be a new console of microsoft. Although there are rumors going around that it's going to be called Xbox 720 I don't believe it personally. One because Kinect is coming out soon, so microsoft might make a console that will be controller free potentially, and might call it Xbox.... not sure what to say so I am not going to make a random name for it.

Can customers and lovers of Xbox too select the names of the future Xbox? Are they allowed to do so?

If you go to youtube or Google, and type in Xbox 720 you are gonna get flooded by images created by fans although some say that its the real thing but it is very hard to believe. Although i think thats how the iPhone 4 started out, it started with images created by fans then some of the images actually turned out to be true. I really do not like that name, but its just a matter of time i mean, i am still skeptical about a name like Xbox360 but now its ok because we have had for some time now then later i just got used to it. And dont even get me started on the WII.
