There's many out there. Borderlands, fallout 3, fallout new vegas, red dead redemption, fable 2 and fable 3, and so many more.

Just like anthony said, borderlands, fallout 3, fallout new vegas, and any fable game. They are all pretty good.

those are all pretty good, and some online MMORPGS like World of warcraft, runescape, maplestory, etc, etc

... not to be the one to post this but, all hands down WoW is far better than the games u just mentioned. World of warcraft is the largest, perfect MMORPG ever. For the Alliance! Lol but in all seriousness wow is perfect for open world mmo rpg style. Best imo Originally Posted by Thatguywhy

Borderlands is a great one. There is also GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, Fable 1,2, and 3, and maybe splinter cell?

Have you tried Oblivion Elder Scrolls? I've been hearing a lot of good things about it from other people and my friends. I've never had the chance to try it myself though because I don't have an xbox or ps3. Its availible for the PC too.

Are you looking for an MMORPG? There are lots of free roaming games like that. My favorite is a 2D game called MapleStory which is a scroller with some great music, gameplay and environments. If you don't mind kiddish graphics then check out that free to play game.
