Thread: Is it worth the effort to build your own computer?

It's definitely worth it. If you aren't comfortable doing it yourself, it can still be worth paying someone you know to help you pick out the right parts and put it together for you, because you'll be getting a more customized final product that fits exactly what your needs are.

I would say its only worth it if you go higher-end. If you're just looking for a budget machine, it might be cheaper to buy a pre-made computer, especially if you need to buy an operating system (which will set you back $100). If you go higher end, you'll save a lot when compared to what you can buy at the store.

No, I don't think so. I think as long as you have a good graphics card, processor & 8GB of RAM there is no need to spend $2,000 or more on a computer...

i love to assemble my own PC's and that is as simple as eating a pie.

Haha well that's pretty much the whole pc. Btw it's a lot more important to have good motherboard which will allow you to upgrade your PC later if you decide. I suggest if you are on a budget to get a good motherboard and lower 2 or 4GB ram and add more RAM later.
