Default Life Span of Graphic Cards

How long does a usual graphic card lasts? Like for how many years?

    5 years?! That's quite long.

It depends a lot, some have a very short life, like 2 years, some outlive their production life. For example, my desktop haves a 8 year old graphic card.

Both my desktop computers have a GC that is at least 5 years old. I bought one of the computers new back in 2007, so nearly five years on that one. And, the other computer was bought the same year and it was at least two years old by then. The graphics are fine though not right for any kind of serious MMO gaming.

I was going to express doubt over a GC that could last for eight years but then remembered how my first internet capable computer was a Windows 98 computer (upgraded from Windows 95) that i bought in 2004. And the graphics on that computer were just fine. I'm not saying you could game on that either but i was able to watch online movies. So a fairly decent quality. I used that computer till two years ago when i had to leave it while moving. So it was easily a decade old by then.
