My MacBook only comes with 2 gb of memory, not sure if whether i can change it. However, my desktop has 4 gb of memory. Thus, I would always use my desktop for gaming and MacBook for schoolwork.

I have a 3 GB RAM. I don't think upgrading RAM from 2GB onwards actually increases performance of the computer. Not a lot of games require more than 2GB worth of RAM, at least that's for the games I've seen.

Well it's defently worth it though , i've defently noticed a difference in the speed of my PC in general, ofcourse not just RAM helps but also a decent graphics and processor aswell.

Even from a 2GB to 3GB RAM upgrade?
Personally I've done that but it doesn't really show a great improvement in terms of gameplay performance :S

i mean from 2GB to 4GB , it's never good really to have 3GB as it then means your computer will run at the lowest speed of the lowest RAM

Ah I see, so if you do 1+2 it still runs as a 1GB?
    Thanks for the information!

Pretty much yep, thats why its better to go for even amounts, eg 2GB+2GB , Thats why i bought a 2pack from Kingston , Got 2x2GB DDR2 SL5 RAM , exactly the same ,

Alright I'll get that fixed soon. Hopefully I could see better improvement in gaming performance.
