    Graphics Processing Unit. Just like how the CPU is the main chip of your computer, the GPU is the main chip of your graphics card.

    True but GPUs are more marketed in the gaming industry and it's much more likely for a non-savvy user to end up with a machine that has an awesome graphics card because they thought that was all they needed but a crappy CPU.

    True but GPUs are more marketed in the gaming industry and it's much more likely for a non-savvy user to end up with a machine that has an awesome graphics card because they thought that was all they needed but a crappy CPU.

    Just buy some nvidia series above 9 and you are good

    Series 9 is great, but it gets old in newer games like games from mid 2011. For that new games use one of the 200,300,400 or 500 series. 100 is not good enough.
