    GIMP or GNU Image Manipulation Program is a freeware that one can use to edit images. It is made basically for Linux but it it now made available into cross platform software.

    I don't see the point in using anything else then Photoshop if you want to edit images...

    That is if you want to use pirated copies. To me, as much as possible, I don't want to use pirated copies...

    I used GIMP quite a few times to make banners and logos for my blog. I think its an awesome piece of freeware. It is quite complicated to use though.

    Since its free its good, but if you are serious about GFX then I recommend people buying PhotoShop.

    @GekiDan, I agree with you. I do not like pirating stuff at all.

    Complicated for first time users. But very easy to manage if you are used with the controls and such. Tutorials will definitely help you on this.

    I don't have GIMP or ever used it before, i started off with photoshop and has stuck with it ever since. But if i were to use GIMP i'd probably get attached to it pretty quickly but i think from what i've seen in gfx that photoshop is better.
