Right, yeah! LOL! I heard that too. Though i had one of the first Donkey Kong mini arcade games. It was like a game boy for it's day. Lots of fun too. Very portable, great for long car rides.

Well, Mario really came from Donkey Kong and they even called him Jumpman. But it changes when Japan exported the game on the US.

Though story goes the company wanted him named Monkey Kong But in the fax transmission, the letters were muddled and smeared and the designer named him Donkey Kong. The designer of the game was mad when they asked him to reprogram the game to say Monkey Kong and refused. So the games shipped as Donkey Kong and thankfully so.
