That particular computer does very well online. The computer i am posting from now is only 512 MB RAM. It could be easily upgraded, if i can ever get around to it. If i could simply add up to the maximum 4 GB, then this computer would be a speed demon online.

Well, you don't really need a 4GB RAM for internet use. 2GB would be just fine. Paired it with a hi-speed internet service, you are good to go.
Mine is only running for 364kbps and pretty much a ok.

I'm paying for a mid range DSL but whenever i test the DSL speed it's abominably slow. So i guess the DSL company is throttling my speed. Not sure why though. I do have Netflix streaming on Roku and that runs many hours of the day, so maybe that is cutting into my internet speed.

That's the possible culprit. Try to close it and test your speed. See if there are changes.

I am using Firefox but I have trouble with it all the time.

Will do, thanks! Also, since AT&T started charging overage for broadband usage, i don't like running the streaming movies anymore. So it's running better already now.
