Nintendo can use Sonic in their games? When did that happen? This looks like a game they could use with the Wii, I bet it would be popular during the summer months.

They probably partnered up or paid to get rights to use it.
Actually, I just looked it up and this isn't the first crossover Olympic game that uses them both.

It was developed by Sega, produced by Nintendo in Japan and Sega in other areas, and is officially licensed by the International Olympic Committee....so sounds like a collaboration.
If anything, Sega is using Mario and not the other way around, even though his name comes first.
