CityVille Level 60 review
I have made it to Level 60 in Cityville and have a words to say.
The game is not quite supported and lacks integrity inside the Facebook app and any browser, with continual load problems and cache programming falling by the wayside.
Up until to about level 35 your game is playable as it was designed but after that it becomes much more problematic to navigate or place objects, manage boated shipping or till crops. This is because the memory storage file "assets. Zynga" is too constantly being overwritten by multiple authorities.
The visual programming and mouse navigation suffers because there can be an up to 90 second lag time for clicked actions and mouseover displays. Given the fact that Zynga intends users to implement microtransactions for advantage in the game, I would have liked to see a much more polished gaming experience with more control given to the user concerning menu item display.
There is also another extremely problematic and annoying feature. If one of a dozen actions in the natural course of the game are triggered, constant and screen dominating window popups appear re-prompting user action, even when it's not possible. And when the game can't support loading when the action is tried, what is the point?
1. If I am out of crops I will constantly get a popup telling me I am out of crops. How many is too many? I would say one but Zynga has programmed this game to hammer notices to drive users to buy, buy, buy. I have been asked thousands of times If I want to spend money. That feature needs to be de-installed. The screen is too crowded with unwanted mission goals and challenges. These are jammed irreversibly into areas that cannot be moved or manipulated.
2. The screen jerks around with no way to fix or adjust the problem, As someone who has restarted the game a dozen times in one day I can tell you that supporting an unstable game with continuous play is illogical. If i didn't know better I would suspect the game is programmed to crash unless repeated buy transactions for Cityville game currency is purchased.
3. Neighbor visits can happen at any time without user control. The Cityville experience is not stable enough to support multiple users in the browser or under the facebook masthead. This game needs to be separated from Facebook and put under a browser to live.
4. Prizes are too expensive. There is a dark chasm between the newest additions. This is an ugly move designed to get users to open their wallets to keep up with other players. I am visiting cities 20 levels below me and they can afford 5 of a building I cant afford one of. Not motivated to spend money, Zynga.
5. Facebook has now been tainted for me. A solid network of people I actually knew is now fused with almost 40 people I never heard of before last month. This is almost a textbook breach of security. I think I am going to have to close my account and start over, because I value my privacy.

That is a harsh review but I do not play Cityville. My girlfriend's kid plays it and I tried to understand what the appeal was. You just build a city right? Where is the challenge?

I love playing games like that. I think it is neat to build and see what you can create.

That is the thing after a certain point Cityville is just about how muh money and time you can send. Caesary (at Caesary.net) is so strategic, you can move geographically to other areas, focus on learning, build an army, launch battle. Plus there is a huge community spirit on caesary I don't see on any other game, ever.

I never understood the final goal of Cityville, all that leveling and hard work, for what exactly?
