Anyone here already experienced becoming one?

I beta tested gears of war 3 and couple other games for open public testing. Is this what you mean?

More or like a private one. I remember seeing a list of beta tester names on credits of some games that I have played...

Well right now I currently am a Beta Tester for BF3. It's actually pretty hard and lots of work to be honest. I have to send in a report every time I log into the game. Things such as, if I found any glitches, are the characters responding properly, are there any visual aspects that you would fix, etc.

You must be thinking of quality assurance workers then. They get paid for testing the game, but it's not as easy as you think it is. They're hired to test every part of the game, not just whatever they discover while they're having fun. The developers want to make sure EVERYTHING is fine before the game is launched.

How much is the regular pay on this kind of job? Do one need and requirements to get into this?

I've beta tested a few games on the ps3. Bad Company 2, Killzone 2, MAG, and Resistance 2. I think I had CoD WaW as well, I forgot since then.
I'm not sure if they revamped the graphics on Resistance 2 before it's release, but the beta was horrible.

I have beta tested games, but just for fun. I have been part of several closed beta tests but in things like Phase 2 or Phase 3. Being a beta game tester is hard since you have to report everything you see wrong in the game, all the time. Beta testing is usually not as fun as people think.

I once dream of becoming a beta tester but I guess that job really deserves someone better than me although I'm a hardcore gamer too.
