Hmmm... you are trying to make me rethink my definition of serious gamer.

OK then. I will give it some thought. New category for serious family gamers. But separate from the rest of the die hard gamers. Not the same.

You pick which category YOU want to belong in. Up to you. Just saying... hang out with the mommies and babies on Wii or join the rest of us who yearn for something more.

My favorite console is the PlayStation 3 because most of its games really have some very great graphics and it also plays Blu-Ray movies as well.

The best console right now is the N64 followed closely by the PS2.

Not just comparing retro consoles either. It's better than any modern console out right now because the games are far higher quality and the console itself is far higher quality.

My N64 I bought still works fine and it's been what, 15 years now?

An Xbox 360 will not work 15 years from now. It just won't happen. It's not made with enough quality. It's built to break.

The catalogs of the PS3, 360 and Wii are not nearly as superior and overall great as the N64's.

Wow you have been keeping your N64 for fifteen years now, i think that you really take good care of it.
When there weren't any new games that are released for Dreamcast i sold it right away, because there won't be any new upcoming games and i really got very bored with the actual games that i had.

I kinda agree with Omar. Older game consoles are made with quality materials and can't easily broken by not using it most of the time.
My old NES is still working the last time I checked it.

Besides, old consoles like these have a sentimental value in most, if not all, of us gamers.

yes, shame i am not really old so i don't have many consoles from 90s and earlier.

The only one I have in hand now is the PSone. My parents gave the SNES to one of our relatives.

Lucky you, you still have the PS 1... you know i sold all the consoles and handheld that i had after playing them a little bit, i remember selling the Dreamcast, the Gameboy Color, the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox 360. Now my brother does have a PlayStation 3 so i enjoy playing it sometimes.

PS3. Enough said.

The PS2 is easily my favourite gaming console because of the countless fun hours I have spent on this little technological wonder.
