Robert Bowling, the Infinity Ward creative strategist, reported on “Roll call” that the downloadable content DLC will be launched for Xbox live users from January 24 onwards. However, later DLC will also be made available for PlayStation and PC users.
Call of Duty was released by Activision in November for Elite users. This time it’s offering elite services for both paid and non-paying users, both which will be a little distinct from each other. Users are required to sign up and create their profiles in order to avail Call of Duty applications. These applications will allow them to group up in private clans with other online users. However, paid subscribers are required to pay $49.99 per year in order to have access to the downloadable content DLC offers every month.
The launch of Modern Warfare 3 was deemed successful since the game release generated $1billion in just the first sixteen days of its release. However, despite this huge success initially some problems were suspected. Right after the release, hundreds of users started signing up for the elite services, thus swamping the network. This led to a lot of complaints from players regarding their profiles; they were facing difficulty accessing featured applications despite paying a hefty sum for it.
However, the subsidiary Beach Studio`s head announced that the company was “working round the clock” to deal with the initial pressure. Also, he indicated that this time the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is going to have the most exclusive features that the players would never have experienced before.
Despite a rough start, the game retained its popularity amongst players due to the exclusive features on offer. Non-paying members have the privilege to access HD videos and other nice features as well.
