Mini Guide to capes of accomplishment

Introduction
Runescape is like a typical RPG in the way that it is covered in things to do which take a large amount of time, skill, effort or a combination of the three to do. As an MMORPG, it tries to give people reasons to do these tasks, and to show off their achievements to other players. With a few very specific exceptions, most of the "hardest" achievements on Runescape with an item to show off that achievement, are capes. This is great, as there is few tradeable capes with any useful defence bonuses, and adds a nice extra use to most of the capes you can recieve

What this guide will contain
This guide will go in detail for every major cape of accomplishment, and how to unlock them, with a bit of information on where they can be bought, or replaced, their social significance in runescape, and similar details.
Please note, when i refer to these capes as capes of accomplishment, i am not referring to the skillcape + quest cape set, merely referring to any cape that shows accomplishment in game

Skill Capes
these are most likely the most recognized capes of accomplishment, and are awarded for reaching 99 in any skill on Runescape. Each cape is completely unique, and bought from a different person, as seen below. Once you have achieved two level 99 skills, your first skill cape, and every other cape you buy from then on will be trimmed, recognized by the "trims" of colour on the cape, and the (t) on the end of the name of the cape. For instance, a trimmed mining skill cape, will be called a mining cape (t). A skill cape shows extreme dedication to a skill, and even having one in an "easy skill" is an extreme accomplishment, because of the time involved.

Quest Cape
The quest cape is a cape which can only be bought (and worn) from the wise old man in Draynor, if a player has completed every single available quest, and therefore gained maximum quest points. it cannot be trimmed. Although the quest capes takes more combined experience than a 99 skill, as well as the quests themselves taking a large amount of time, many players see them as inferior to a skill cape.

Master cape
A master cape is a cape bought once you reach level 120 in a skill. Currently, there is only one master cape available, for Dungeoneering. This cape can be bought from Thok, for 120,000 coins. Whether more master capes will be available in future has yet to be seen.

Soul wars cape
The soul wars cape is a cape you can buy for 150,000 coins after completing the grandmaster quest, Nomads Requiem. While this cape doesn't show as much achievement as a quest cape (as nomads requiem, being a quest, is required for the quest cape) It has better defence bonuses, and is therefore better for combat scenarios

Fire cape
The fire cape is the only animated cape in the game, and is a reward for beating the fight cave minigame. The fight cave minigame consists of 63 waves of monsters, which must be defeated, with no resupplies in between waves. It is especially hard when it is considered that the last wave has a level 702 monster, which must be defeated after 62 waves of wasting supplies. This cape takes a certain degree of skills other capes do not require, as you have to switch the prayers you are using as the final boss switches attack style, and just a single mistake will result in death (a hit of 970!)

Castle wars capes
The minigame castle wars has 5 capes available to earn, which must be bought for two castle wars tickets after earning the right to buy them
Flag Cape: Capturing the most flags in a single game of castle wars
Kills Cape: Kill the most players in a single game of castle wars
Hobbyist cape: play 500 full games of castle wars
Enthuisiast cape: play 1000 full games of castlewars
Professional cape: play 5000 full games of castlewars
The first two capes are the most common, as despite requiring a fair bit of skill, are no where near as time consuming as the other three capes, which take 8, 16, and 80 days of solid castle wars play time respectively. These capes are considered by some to be the best capes in the games, and are seen by others as pointless, but either way they are extremely rare (under 100 professional capes), and are great fun to get.
