Re: The 57th Parallel Analyzes: Stop Online Piracy Act
That, and there have not been any bipartisan politics in america for a long time. If you don't completely agree with conservatives then you are labeled a liberal and if you aren't entirely liberal you're labeled a conservative. I say people might as well just have another civil war if they hate each others political ideologies so much, then they'll kill themselves off and us bipartisan people with actual rationality can step in and fix the damn country.
Fact is, it's basically only the baby boomers who are ruining the country with partisan politics and stubbornness. Some of them want the country to be a theocracy and some of them want to try achieve a highly unrealistic idea of world peace. They're all so narrow-minded they either can't fathom a compromise between these two extremes or simply reject compromise entirely because they're so stubborn and would watch the country burn sooner than compromise. That's why things like trickle down Reaganomics still have republican support even though it has been proven to not work as indicated by the horrible inequality of wealth.

Re: The 57th Parallel Analyzes: Stop Online Piracy Act
Bipartisan politics would be important to give more of a chance of tolerance. In today's society, if you are not liberal then you are conservative and vice versa which is a horrible way of judging people.
The very idea of "I am right and I won't make a compromise until you say I am right" in politics is the prime reason on why these two parties fight. They would further want to see America burn then shine in what it could be. Conservatives blame Obama and liberal congressmen for the national debt and Liberals blame the Conservatives. I personally blame everyone and such an idea of Occupy Wall Street isn't working correctly because their message is right and I support them but a lot of people just really don't care about them but lord knows we have to find out what happens to -insert name here- in American Idol over our country's very own crises among us.

Re: The 57th Parallel Analyzes: Stop Online Piracy Act
Occupy Wall Street would work perfectly fine in a real democracy where people had power over their own country. The only 'people' who have power in this country are the corporations who have the money to lobby to the government in ways the average citizen can't. They lobby for bills to be passed for people to be detained by the military indefinitely so things like OWS can't even occur. That's not democracy so it's too late to be out in the street collaborating as a united people. The government needs either massive reform in terms of what corporations are and can do, or it will be revolted upon and taken down. One or the other will happen eventually as you can't suppress this many people and expect them to be okay with unemployment rates like this forever. The peaceful protesting will eventually turn into rioting and the members of congress would be smart to go into hiding.
